The DEMo4PPL Workshop titled “Identifying common needs and gaps for Participatory Planning” was successfully completed on Monday, 20th of May 2024. The Workshop was a hybrid event and was hosted at the Department of Planning and Regional Development in Volos, Greece. Participants (40 on-line and 18 on-site participants) included team members from all project partners, as well as students, educators and experts from partner and other countries.

The workshop commenced with the presentation of the main findings of the implemented research in the 4 participating countries (Italy, Poland, Bulgaria & Greece), regarding participatory planning in practice and in academic curricula. A discussion in two separate break-out rooms followed (one for planning practice and one for academic curricula) which led to fine tuning and prioritising research findings, namely common gaps in participatory planning which should be addressed in the next stages of the project.

The results of this Workshop will be used to enhance the thematic units of the educational program that will be developed and piloted in the next part of the DEMo4PPL project.
